Biography Selena Gomez

Actress and singer Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She is the daughter of Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Gomez. His mother is of Italian descent, and his father is of Mexican descent. He was named after singer Tejano Selena, who died in 1995.

His first acting role was as "Gianna" on the popular children's television show 90s Barney & Friends (1992), with Demi Lovato from 2002-2004. Gomez also has roles in Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2003), Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire (2005), and House Broken (2006).


Gomez moved to Los Angeles, California when he booked the lead role "Alex Russo" and became famous on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007). He then starred in Another Cinderella Story (2008) on ABC Family, having his first voice role in the animated film Horton Hears a Who! (2008), and starred with a childhood friend, Demi Lovato, in the Princess Protection Program (2009).

In 2009, Gomez released his first album with a band called "Selena Gomez & the Scene," which ranked # 9 on the Billboard 200 album charts. Gomez then released two other albums with his band and starred in Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012 ), and Transylvania Hotel (2012).

In 2013, he released his first solo album "Stars Dance" and the main single "Come & Get It" from the album, becoming Gomez's first top ten entry on the Billboard Hot 100 list. He starred in Getaway (2013), Rudderless (2014), and Behaving Badly (2014).

In 2015, he released his second solo album "Revival," which debuted # 1 on the Billboard 200 list, and starred in the Transylvania 2 Hotel (2015), The Fundamentals of Caring (2016), In Dubious Battle (2016), and Neighbors 2 : Sorority Rising (2016).

Fastest Rising Music Career

Along with his acting, Gomez focused on his developing music career by recording the cover of "Cruella de Vil" for DisneyMania 6 in 2008. He also recorded three songs for the soundtrack of his film Another Cinderella Story and a song for the animated film Tinker Bel. Other feature film contributions include the single "One and the Same" for the Women's Protection Program as a duet with Lovato, as well as four songs for the soundtrack for Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.

In 2008, Gomez signed a record deal with Hollywood Records and began working on his debut album, Kiss and Tell, which was released in September 2009. Gomez also had a cameo in the Jonas Brothers music video for the single "Burnin 'Up," released in 2008.
